Our Goal

The primary goal of the company is to assist major corporations with Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Risk Management and Security Planning/Oversight issues. Strategic Continuity Solutions has been very successful in resolving issues presented by audit findings (private sector and governmental intervention) company growth and M&A’s.

Our Strategy

Successfull engagements have been with a combination of onsite visits and remote work. The purpose is to get the required information while onsite and then complete projects remotely to hold client expenses down. This ratio is determined by the client.

Company Founder

Jeffrey Blackmon is the founder and primary consultant for Strategic Continuity Solutions. He has over 25 years experience within the fields of computer science and security. He has worked for companies such as Bank of America, Presbyterian Healthcare Services, Library of Congress, L-3 Communications, Aventis/Hoechst Marion Roussel, Saudi Arabia Marketing and Refining and the Royal Saudi Air Force.

Recommendations

“I have been privileged to know and work with Jeff on several major projects in the past dozen-plus years.  Jeff has great depth of knowledge across the breadth of the professional practices of business continuity.  Jeff has continued to broaden his expertise, earning multiple certifications across related disciplines, to include becoming a Fellow of the BCI.  Ever interested in value-focused outputs, Jeff pays exceptional attention to detail in developing the deliverables in question.  Jeff has always been willing to invest extra effort when circumstances required, and has readily grasped the broader significance of a project’s charter and impact.  His approachability and friendly work style ensure that all stakeholders feel welcomed to participate and have opportunity to contribute to the outcomes.  I know he will continue to contribute significantly to our profession and to the clients he serves.”

Frank L.
SVP, Business Continuity, Bank of America

“Jeff is a delight to work with on any project. He brings great ideas, enthusiasm and energy to getting things done. Our project required a weekly speech and this is where he shines. Jeff is very comfortable in front of a group; his experience and preparation make him very attuned to the audience. I would be very happy to work with him again and highly recommend him for your next project.”

Sue R.
CISA, CRISC, CIA, CFE, CISSP

“I knew Jeff when we were both in IT at SAMAREC (now a division of Aramco). He did important technical work there, and he has impressed me since with his dedication to professional excellence. I have great confidence in him and do not hesitate to recommend him to my clients.”

Industry Experience

Finalist for BCI’s North America Award for Continuity and Resilience Consultant 2015

Strategic Continuity Solutions provided Risk Management/Business Continuity services to the largest healthcare provider in the state of New Mexico. Along with 3 major hospitals in Albuquerque and 5 regional hospitals throughout the state of New Mexico, Jeff worked with the Director of Business Continuity to develop a Business Continuity program that aligns with ISO-22301 standards. He was also responsible for collecting information for BIA development, defining recovery strategies for all major departments, and building user friendly/manageable Business Continuity Plans. This project managed BC plans within an RSA/Archer Environment.

Strategic Continuity Solutions was contracted to Bank of America Global Business Continuity Governance to help resolve outstanding Business Recovery Compliance issues. The project consisted of working with VP’s from 8 divisions that encompassed 25,000 employees in 35 countries. This project was to resolve the vast majority of the business recovery gap issues and lower the outstanding count. The results of this project were recognized by the CIO of Bank of America.

Contracted to the USDA-OCIO through L-3 Communications, Jeff provided assistance with security planning and architecture for the USDA. Jeff was a regular member of the OCIO security team based out of the USDA headquarters in Washington, D.C. He assisted with projects such as monitoring cryptographic implementations within the USDA, provided security based training and briefings to senior management, developed security policies based upon NIST, Presidential Directives, and OMB Memorandums. Jeff was also one of the primary staff members to research and evaluate new security technology when required.

Hoechst Marion Roussel in Kansas City directly employed Jeff as part of a team that managed the backup/recovery for one of the larger pharmaceutical companies located in the United States. His department was responsible for 900 distributed servers (Windows, AIX and HP/UX) and an IBM mainframe system. Knowledgeable in both distributed and mainframe environments, Jeff was responsible for building recovery plans for both environments. As a core recovery member, Jeff attended the majority of remote recovery exercises and was also the lead in the planning and architectural design of both mainframe and distribued systems.

Jeff was hired directly by Saudi Arabia Marketing and Refining to assist with bringing three IBM mainframe systems up to date after Desert Storm I. He was instrumental in updating two years of software releases in an online production refinery.

Working on a government to government contract with the Royal Saudi Air Force in Riyadh, Jeff was part of a team assembled by an American Defense contracting firm to help implement new software systems after Desert Storm I.
